The 2021 No.6 was harvested from our family vineyard, situated in White Hutt, Clare Valley. The grapes selected for this special release are the oldest plantings on the property, dating back over 50 years. These precious old vines are planted on the top of the hill at the peak of the property, overlooking the surrounding Clare Valley. The unique combination of very old vines, rich red soils and the specific aspect and topography of this vineyard deliver Riesling grapes with delicacy of flavour, elegant structure and blazing natural acidity that is perfectly suited to wines destined for long-term cellaring.

Inhabiting the intangible space between youth and maturity, the 2021 No.6 is a perfect harmony of zesty vibrancy and toasty aged Riesling characters. Aromas of Crème Brûlée, honey butter and toasted crumpets meld seamlessly with rich fruity nuances of lemon curd, lime cordial and grapefruit marmalade, plus a subtle yet refreshing lift of wintergreen and menthol. The palate is all zip and zing with mouthwatering acidity and fresh citrus flavours that belie its age. The mid palate is lusciously silky with a slick texture, wrapped around a core of steely acidity that draws through to an electrifyingly crisp finish that lingers on and on. A wine with many years of cellaring potential ahead for those who enjoy Rieslings of a certain age, for after five years in bottle this little number is still all bouncy charm and vivacity; a spritely teenager on the cusp of maturity, with limitless potential for the future.
