This is the inaugural release of the Rieslingfreak No.9 Sekt Clare Valley Riesling. The fruit comes from the family property, situated in the Clare Valley, in the sub region of White Hutt. Harvest in 2014, the grapes were selected from the coolest part of the vineyard, this providing grapes with high natural acidity, and great fruit flavors. The wine has spent two years on lees. Disgorged mid June 2016, the wine captures the balance of great Riesling fruit and the start of yeast autolysis. The wine has 2.5g/L sugar, and combined with fruit flavor is a well balance dry sparkling. The wine drinks exceptionally well now, but will reward with long term cellaring.
